TOURNEDOS AU SAINT-EMILION

Geographical location

Dominating to the east the medieval city of Saint-Émilion, just 500m away, the vineyard of Vieux Sarpe sitting on a beautiful limestone plateau is situated between Trottevieille, the 1st Grand Cru Classé and Haut Sarpe, which is itself Grand Cru Classé.

Soil type

Clay-limestone on a marine limestone base with asters, which outcrops in places at the top of the hillside.

Grape varieties

70% Merlot for roundness, 30% Cabernet Franc for elegance

Tasting notes

By renowned oenologists Michel ROLLAND and Stéphane TOUTOUNDJI (GAULT & MILLAU)

  • 2016 - EXCELLENT WINESBlackcurrant and black cherry aromas. Well structured mouth. Powerful and greedy finish.
    2015 - AN EXCEPTIONAL YEARThe attack is supple and the mouth greedy, ample. Fruity aromas.

  • 2014 - A GOOD VINTAGE RICH AND SMOOTHBeautiful aromatic freshness. The attack in the mouth is balanced.

  • 2013 - SEDUCED BY ITS BALANCE. ADORABLE WINESRound mouth with a melted tannic structure, the wine has a nice length.

  • 2012 - A YEAR OF MERLOT, PLEASURE IN THE RAW STATERound on the palate with silky tannins that extend for a long time on toasted notes.
